Lori is a seasoned marketing, communications, and public relations executive and a gifted communicator who infuses fresh ideas and sound strategy into just about everything. She puts these talents to work helping clients identify opportunities and realize them with smart strategy and impactful marketing solutions. Lori has the creativity to develop break through strategy and the discipline and leadership skills to get results. She has successfully managed people, projects, programs, organizations, and brands in all sectors — public, private, and nonprofit.
As a high-energy and results-driven c-suite leader, Lori has an unrelenting passion for partnering with organizations that make the world a better place. She founded and built Marketing that Matters and her private consultancy around doing work that really matters, and helping others do the same.
Lori brings 30 years experience in strategic communications, marketing, public relations and public affairs. Most recently, she served four years as the Vice President of Marketing and Communications for Friends of Acadia–a conservation organization based in Maine that helps preserve, protect, and promote stewardship of Acadia National Park.
As a former newspaper reporter and editor in community journalism, a corporate communications manager, marketing manager, media consultant, director of public affairs, nonprofit director, and a 17+-year communications and marketing consultant, Lori knows what makes people, organizations, causes, and brands tick. Her favorite motto is also the agencytagline: “be known for good.”

For Fun: Lori loves spending time with family and friends, especially in the great outdoors. She is an avid beach walker and hiker. When she’s not traveling and exploring new destinations, she’s planning the next adventure. The coast of Maine and the North Shore of Lake Superior are her “happy places” and she is fortunate to live and work in both. Lori loves to entertain and is a natural connector of people. She is an amateur photography, a trained health and life coach, passionate about making the world a better place, and her favorite word is “Yes!”
