Beth Probst is an Emmy award winning television news journalist turned communications and marketing professional. She now splits her time working in public relations at Memorial Medical Center (MMC), a critical access hospital in Ashland, Wisconsin, and working as an independent marketing consultant and writer. Beth’s writing has appeared in Midwest Living Magazine, Pioneer Press, Star Tribune, Lake Superior Magazine, Minnesota Business, Business North & more.
Beth teams with Marketing that Matters to provide communications strategy and planning services, writing and public relations services to clients who are making a difference in our world.
Previously, Beth oversaw the communication efforts at the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation where she was named a John S. and James L. fellow for the Knight Community Info Challenge Boot Camp. She also managed communications and marketing efforts at Northland College, served as a media buyer and account executive at a regional advertising agency, and was a producer and managing editor at the NBC-affiliate in Duluth, Minn.
She is a recipient of a regional Emmy for Best Morning Newscast, a first-place writing award from the Minnesota Associated Press, an Eric Sevareid award for writing from the Northwest Broadcast News Association, and a regional Edward R. Murrow award for coverage of Sen. Paul Wellstone’s plane crash. In 2009, she received the “20 Under 40” award granted by the Duluth News Tribune, which establishes 20 people under the age of 40 to watch in the region.
